Blogging & Friends

Hello My Dear Blogging Friends! I've been MIA for a while and have missed all of you very much. It has just been nothing short of crazy at my house.....as if that is something out of the norm! While I've been lying low a lot of changes have come about in my life and Ive had a few lemons to deal with. But that's ok that is just the way life is, right?

Is this just to die for? I would love to lay here with a book and a big cup of coffee. This is from Cindy at Cute Pink Stuff. I'm jealous, she can lay here whenever she wants, lol! If you dont know her, go check out her blog. Cindy and I have emailed back and forth for a while and finally talked on the phone for over an hour last  week and then another hour a few days ago. We laughed and talked about all kinds of things as if we'd known each other forever. and we both came to the conclusion that it is so easy to please our bloggy friends. I'm sure you have experienced this. In blogland there are no expectations and we visit each other leaving lovely comments of encouragement & compliments. I think that is how the real world should be, dont you? Life would be so much better that way. We laughed about the fact that no one (like my kids) leave comments saying,"I dont want to take out the trash, or I dont want that for dinner! Oh no, its all roses and sunshine. Cindy & I only live about an hour apart and are planning to meet soon. I'm sure we'll post about our adventure. So my advice for the day is this (free, no charge, no strings!) Treat the people in your life with all the love you give to your bloggy friends, yes even the difficult ones and you will be surprised at how that little bit of tlc can change things. I'm going to start doing it right now too!

Hugs,

Girl's Day Out

Off to Paris for the afternoon.......
I took my daughter for tea.....at Paris in a Cup.

Tea for Two and Two for Tea
That's Me for You and You for Me!

It is the prettiest tea salon I've ever seen. I wanted to take  more pictures but they were very busy so I could'nt get the right angles of the room without getting in the way.

One lump or two?
The food here is just fabulous. I mean really, really fabulous. We were so hungry that we forgot to take a picture of our lunch. We barely had room for the cookies!

Is'nt he just the cutest thing?

Their gift boutique has everything French you can imagine....

So if you are ever in Southern California, visit Paris in a Cup in downtown Orange at the circle. Go HERE to see their online store or make reservations. Bonjour!

Rainy Day

It's raining Cats & Dogs!!
In light of the terrential rains and a small tornado (completely foreign to sunny So.Cal.) I thought this is fitting althought the story below is kinda gross. We are being washed away....literally!  If your an animal lover you might be surprised at how this saying originated, I was.  The flooding, mudslides and evacuations are expected to last all week, yuck.

Meaning: It’s raining heavily

Origin: There are roughly 200 theories on this one. The most probable? In 17th-century England, public sanitation wasn’t what it is today—hence during deluges, rain coursing down the streets would often carry dead animals with it. As a result, even though cats and dogs never literally showered down from above, they became associated with severe rainstorms. Photo: iStockPhotos

This is featured in a fun article by Woman's Day about popular ideoms. You can read it HERE.The article is pretty humorous and gives an  insight into where all those funny saying are believed to originate.Hope all of you are warm, safe and cozy!

"Frenchy Apron"

After designing the "Places to Go" pillows my showroom asked me if I could do an apron to match. So here it is! Completely different than anything I have ever done and a little out of my comfort zone since all of my other aprons are feminine & cottage style. BUT, I was told the simplicity & clean line is appealing. So here is where your 2 cents come in. Please share your oppinion on the right sidebar. Yep, you get to vote. You are a valuable part of my research! Thank you and have a great day!
