Its really not what I thought!

 A funny thing happened on the way here

to this place I call "My Life". 

Have you ever completely misread something, someone or 

had the wrong take altogether on something? And then felt horrible because  you missed it?
replayed it countless times, analyzed it to death? And then were not so particularly nice to yourself because of it? Show of hands girls? No one can see you, tun off the webcam. 
I put both up, one for me and one for you.

Allow me to elaborate. You may want a cookie to go with this. 

Remember when I said I would be making some changes? 

Well this is just the beginning.

You've heard "the beginning of the rest of your life" used many times and I dont mean to sound cliche but why not have a new beginning today and tomorrow and the next day? 

Who says that because you missed the mark in some way that you can't start fresh? Isnt that what we tell our children when they are in a pile of tears? We dont tear them down, we wouldnt tear our best friend or husband down. So why do we do it to ourselves?

The sun will come out tomorrow

Ive noticed something about myself and Im just going to put it out there because I think you will understand. I am really good at forgiving others, encouraging others and even putting people on a pedestal(not something I recommend) but not myself. Perhaps it is rooted in the father that nothing was good enough for or the fear that I wont be liked, gee feels like jr. high all over again.

But life is meant to be enjoyed not endured.

So Ive decided to  make some changes and Im excited to do it. My blog will be different than what youve seen in the past. Ive discovered a love (again) for writing and Im just going to put on my big girl panties and write about the things that matter to me because I think they just may matter to you too. And of course Im perfectly safe here in my pajamas with my hair in rollers, you cant see me! But if you could, you would laugh and so would I.

I hope you will be courageous with me and give yourself permission to make mistakes and start over. Its freeing and its real.

Do you know Jenny Doh? Of Crescendoh?

You may know her from "Where Women Create" fame and I am thrilled that she has just released another beautiful book,

"Book of Inspiration" with Jo Packman. 

She is a whirlwind of creative passion. One visit to her blog and you will quickly

learn that she has an amazing passion for life, people and art.

I contacted Jenny in March and invited her to
Launch Your Creativity,
not surprising that her calendar was full and
she could not attend but I was sure surprised when she asked
for my "Art Saves"story  to feature on her website.

I guess Ive never considered myself to be an artist but I quickly learned from Jenny that you dont need to take a paintbrush to a canvass or sing as a tenor to be considered an artist. Thank you Jenny for teaching all of us that art has so many more forms than tradition would dictate. I didn't grow up in a home that encouraged the pursuit of passions and artful adventures to say the least. I bet many of you didnt either, well we are not alone in that. The stories that she features in her "Art Saves" column are nothing short of inspiring and I know upon reading them you will feel a strong sense of community. 

Upon visiting her site be prepared to be completely whisked away to a creative land like no other, there is something for every form of art at every level to inspire you.

Glitterfest=Eye Candy!

I have never been so inspired as I was yesterday after visiting Glitterfest.

In a word,"Wowzie"!!

These lovely ladies were not just creative but  teachers and  entrepneurs too. Everyone of them was as charming as she could be!

So let me introduce you.....

This is Rita of Mammabellarte She is so sweet and her booth was amazing.

I bought one of her bird ornaments....darling.

This is the fabulous & amazing artist  Christie Repasy! She is as sweet as her paintings.

Her work is beautiful!

And the sweet & spunky Janet Schultz from the Muses Studio

Her dolls are made to order, completely custom. In the foreground you can see how they start. My youngest son wants one so badly, he was quite intrigued by the whole process!

Sweet Magnolias Farm is sooooo SWEET! Oh my gosh this girl is the cutest ever. She has the most interesting hand made aprons. This picture doesnt do it justice!

And last but not least I met dear Becky! Can you believe these dolls? It takes her 3 entire days to complete one. The detail is stunning. You can reach her at wimsies@msn.com

There was so much to see and Glitterfest was really hoppin so it was quite difficult to take pictures.

I hope you enjoyed meeting these lovely ladies and if you are in so cal next march you should stop in. You wont be dissapointed! 

Food for Thought

This sign is in my dining room. Well, What would you do if you knew you "could not fail?" Hmmm, that's a tough one. What is keeping you from pursueing your dreams? Time, money, family.....the list goes on.

My husband and I used to say to each other,"are you living to work or are you working to live?" What are YOU passionate about? Here is an entry from my journal from oh gosh years ago. I can't remember where I saw this to give proper credit, but I did'nt come up with it.

"The road to happiness lies in 2 simple principles: find what it is that interests you and that you can do well, and when you find it, put your soul into it-every bit of energy, ambition and natural ability that you have!" I encourage you to get a journal and just start pouring out all those ideas that are swimming around in your head & heart. Writing it down helps bring clarity. Then go to your best friends & family and get their support for your new venture. You will need it. Every new venture has ups & downs. But most of all, "Believe in yourself". I have "believe in yourself you can make a difference" and "follow your dreams, anything is possible" on my hang tags and in my catalog. I want to encourage everyone that sees my products to think about that.
