Got Junk?

Love My Junk

I went junkin with my best friend Susie today and look at the treasure, ummm... junk I got!I love this little table. It would be so cute set with a lovely teapot and tea towels hanging on the side. I am planning on repainting it and changing the knob to a glass one. The lady I bought it from said she thought it was from the 30's. The sign was a gift from Sus. I will hang it above my aprons at the next show and then it will have a place of honor in my sewing room. I could'nt resist the garden girl. She is just darling and of course every garden needs a bicycle!

Oh I just couldn't pass these up. I think this birdbath was salvaged from Liberace's old place and no dignified bird of the garden would be caught in such a garish bath so it will have a visit from the spray paint fairy. The red cart needs a little freshening too and will look so cute adorned for the 4th of July!

This little plant cart is so versatile, of course full of spring & summer flowers but how about pumpkins in the fall? The table and chairs are from Laura Ashley and I got them for an absolute steal. It was definitely a well loved set and needs a fresh coat of paint and maybe some gingham cushions? What do you think, pink checks or red checks? Oh this rescuing of others' castoffs is a tough job but hey somebody has to do it.

Blue Chicken Pox

This is my little stinker! He loves to play practical jokes on me. He did this the other day when I was having one of those "no time to be silly days, cause mommy is sooo busy". I had some computer problems, a ginormous(yes it's a word) order to get out, no food in the house and its dinner time, laundry up to my eyeballs kind of a day. I had just yelled to the boys, get your shoes let's pick something up when Cody announced he didn't feel well with a big grin! So I told him I was going to take his picture for everyone to see! He wanted you all to know that these are not "real" chicken pox because they are blue. I think Nanny McPhee was the inspiration here. Those spots were quite stubborn. He used a washable marker that wasn't washable and he wondered if his teacher and the kids at school would notice. Ya think? What will he think of next.

Waiting......Anxiously!

This is my beautiful daughter and darling son-inlaw! They got married last year and have been away at school. I haven't seen them since Christmas and I miss them so much. They will be home tonight and I can't wait. They are flying to Thailand on friday for 10 days. They are making the trip to see if that is where the Lord will have them move permanently as missionaries. After their trip I will have them for 2 weeks to spoil. Please pray for their safety as they travel abroad and that the Lord will reveal his will to them.

From the Bottom of My Heart

I can't believe the outpouring of sweet words you have all graced me with. I am truly overwhelmed by the compliments you have paid me. I have worked sooo amazingly hard on this line and your comments made the work worth it. As I began reading the comments left by you, I cried! I'm trying to blame that emotional outburst on perimenopause. I have had hot flashes for 4 years so I guess that qualifies. I am so grateful to Cindy of Romantichome.blogspot.com she gave such a lovely review. I guess I feel like I've arrived- tiara, apron and dishpan hands! I wish I could give an apron to everyone of you and have you all over for tea. That would be an amazing event! So, from the Bottom of My Heart a sincere thankyou.

Patience, Rearranging & Decorating

I was talking with someone last night about learning patience and how terribly difficult it is. I pondered the whole concept for quite some time. And this verse popped into my head:
"Being confident in this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion"...
Phillipians 1:6
As you know about me I love decorating and creating and am incredibly impatient about the whole process. The funniest thing struck me though......When you begin redoing a room in your home it takes a lot of time. Finding the right shade of green paint or the perfect flooring. What about the elements we bring in? Furniture, art for the walls, floral arrangements and knick knacks. It takes a while to find all the pieces and put them together. And of course there is the rearranging and tweaking of the room untill it is just right or complete. It is the same thing the Lord does in our life. Sometimes girls we need a little rearranging and tweaking untill we are complete. I have had a lot of tweaking lately. As many of you know my husband was in a serious accident last summer. Well, this just wasn't in our plans! It was so emotionally taxing on our family and we wanted it over immediately. But ohhhh, the Lord had something else in mind. There were lessons to be learned and it was a time to be introspective of my life. I needed to take inventory of the room and redo it. This of course is still going on and I imagine it will continue untill it is complete and that is OK.
