Something new

New Pillows!
*Warning long post alert*
Its been one of those days!

All of you know that pink is not just a color but an entire attitude....."pinkitude"! Right? Well I was working on an order that was everything pink and then some and I got so tired of looking at pink. So I decided to play with an idea I've had for a while, I called it pink recovery therapy! What could be more opposite of pink? Black! So here's a little peek at what I whipped up....

I love this, very feminine even though its not our favorite colour.

and this is my all time favorite "one word saying". Believe carries a lot of weight and a lot of questions. I am planning to offer these for sale, so as soon as I can I will get a buy it button added. On a different note, did any of you have problems with blogger lately? The last 2 days my blog has been coming and going. oh my gosh it was making me nuts. Then my photo editing program wasn't working, UGH! I am not tech savvy at all so I really wanted to kick the darn thing as if that would help. Then there was my other tech issue....the cell phone. EEK! A while ago I dropped it at the beach and it got wet. Of course this happened when I was there alone with the dog in the dark and without a flashlight. A nice couple helped me find it. Me being the I can fix anything type and so frugal(LOL) decided to take it apart with a tiny little screwdriver. It worked to my delight. You wouldn't believe the sand that was in that thing. I took it all apart, yes circuit board and all, and let it dry overnight. Then I used a craft paintbrush to gently brush out the sand. And it worked for awhile. If I used my headset while driving it wouldnt recognise when I unplugged it and I couldnt answer my phone without the headset which was in the car while the phone was ringing in the kitchen! That brought my hubby and I down to the local verizon store to become crazy with options and complety overwhelmed upgrade. An hour and 20 minutes later we emerged with new phones and no idea how to use them. The sweet sales lady explained how easy it would be for all of you to follow me on twitter! My coffee almost came out my nose. Call me old fashion, out dated, whatever but the bottom line is I am just not doing anyhting that interesting that you are going to need to know about while you in the grocery store! I promise I wont do that to you unless I win the lottery.

All Dressed Up!

Do I look rediculous? Look at what my owner put on me. If I keep my eyes closed maybe I'll wake up and this will be just a dream. This stupid costume isn't even mine, its for Bob. Yeah, Bob! Its supposed to be an elf costume for Christmas, but Bob, that annoying new cat is too small for it so she put it on me. Well I think I'll see if the dog needs a date for Halloween cause lord knows how long I'll be stuck like this.

Seasonal Confusion!

I know this looks like a Spring post but its not! I just took this picture this morning and we are expecting 80* today. For those of you that are experiencing Fall I am incredibly jealous. Last week we had some much needed rain and I ran out and bought pumpkin pie. I was almost giddy that Fall was here. But mother nature has played a joke on Southern California and snatched it back away. The story behind my old chair....It was a cast off from an acquaintance. It had a wrapped rattan seat that had come apart. I grabbed it right up knowing I would turn one man's trash into my treasure! I freshened the black paint up and painted on Bonjour with the help of a stencil. Then I used some old chicken wire to create the "bowl" and line it with sheet moss. And voila, I have a planted chair for almost nothing.

Old window, New window

Do you recognise me? I had a little makeover!

Here is my "before" picture......what do you think of the new me?
Pretty nifty, huh? Old window, New windowbox!

Something to crow about! I embelished these little guys. I've never done anything like this before and it was a lot of fun.

I think he needs a name. Oh, I have to shoo my cat away.....Tigger doesn't know what the fuss is about.

And here's the white pumpkins I was working on.

They are glittered too but the camera isn't picking it up. phooey.

This is the front display of my booth at the Sugar Plum Festival. It was a long day setting up but it came out really cute and I didn't get too soaked loading and unloading my car. The rain makes it feel a little more like Fall since the weather has been hot & cold and can't seem to make up its mind. I heard its going to be 80* this weekend....not exactly pie baking weather. Hope you all have a great day.

Another crafty day

I've loved white pumpkins ever since I first saw them featured in home decorating magazines several years ago. Since I'm doing a lot of black & white in my booth next week at the Sugar Plum Festival, I thought I should whip up some white pumpkins.....

....here's the first coat of white paint. Is that a wine bottle in the background? Dont ya think its a little early in the day for that?

Not to worry, here's my coffee cup! And this is why there are wine bottles floating around my craft area:

Drink at your own risk! I'm still working on the old window makeover and I cant wait to show you. Everything is coming together great for the festival. If you are in Orange County next weekend be sure to stop by for a visit.

Painting day

Today was officially designated as painting day! I thought you might like to see a few of the things that have been hanging around the garage waiting for its' turn at  a new life!

"Imagine"! One of my favorite pass times and judging from all of your creative blogs I think its one of yours too! This was blue, in fact it was a gorgeous blue but it didn't get any takers so we'll try what seems to be more trendy.

I really like this magazine rack. I'm pretty sure its old and as long as its older than me, I think its old. The picture doesn't do it justice. I also love buckets....don't know why.

Another bucket or actually a pot. This would be perfect for a witch's brew! And a cute wire basket, another flea market item I can never pass on.

Check out this old window! My husband turned it into something fabulous for me. I am in the middle of painting it and I will show its big reveal soon. I painted a few other things that I will post asap. I forgot to finish taking pictures. I heard thats a symptom of  middle age I hope it doesnt stay long!

Blessings from above

Thank you girls for your sweet comments of support. I am truly blessed by all of you that stop by and although I dont always respond I dont take your comments for granted. I felt especially moved this morning by Candy's comment below. It struck me by surprise and caused my eyes to well up......about two weeks ago a  sweet lady called me to order for her store and we were just chatting away when she said she wanted to pray for me. She said almost verbatim the same thing Candy said about the aprons being sewn with prayers! It is such a blessing, these sweet little notes of encouragement that the Lord sends us through the people in our lives.I truly believe that every person has a purpose and has special gifts to be used to bless those around us. So I guess I should tell you that I started my business to be able to support causes I care about. There are so many needs out there and I want to encourage you to find something you care about and just do what you can. It can be the smallest of things and doesnt have to be monetary. A staggering number of people dont know how to read and you could give of your time. And if you ask me, time is a bigger investment! I often ask the Lord why he only put 24 hrs in a day! Another idea is walk dogs at the local shelter. You get the idea. If we make a collective effort we can make a big difference! Have a blessed day girls.
Hugs~

Pinch Me

I've got the most exciting news that I've been sitting on for a month. I did'nt want to say anything just in case it did'nt happen. I have a new account that is exporting my line to Dubai! I will be sending off the boxes tomorrow. I can hardly believe that this is happening to little 'ol me. And if that was'nt enough I just found out another 2 orders were sent to Japan. I am extremely grateful to my showroom and reps for their hard work at promoting my line. I learned how to sew when I was 10 years old  from my babysitter. I will never forget her and the "seeds she sewed" into my life. And thanks to my BFF on the east coast, Elyse of Cottage who is the only one who knew. The day I got the news my family was out of town and out of cell range. Elyse was home with her son who was very sick and had to go to the ER. But the graceful friend that she is was still there to share in my excitement.
