A Near Cat-astrophe & a Giveaway

Oh what a week it has been! As I sat down to write this post I realised this is the 100th! That calls for a celebration dont ya think? Let me fill you in on whats been going on around here first....

Isnt this box sooo cute? I bought this from Amber at Black Rooster Cottage a few weeks ago and never got around to posting all the goodies I bought. I had just got started taking pictures when I heard a little meow.
Well back on Mother's Day our plumbing was out and the plumber was here for 2 days trying very hard to get us up and running. You may also remember I had a little trip to the hospital and my sweet cat Misty (of the great cat rescue fame)had been keeping me company while I was recovering.
And then she was gone!
We thought a coyote had got her and didnt even think to look under the house after the plumber was gone, duh!
She was under there an entire week! I feel just awful but thankfully she is fine and quite grateful to be back on my bed!
Then my son hit his head and we had a little trip to Urgent Care and of course my husband was out of town and his cell phone completely died.
That's my very typical life. On the days when nothing crazy or unexpected goes on, I am very thankful!

Oh I almost forgot...

Look at who showed up to visit. YUCK! Insert squeal here! my husband said it is just a gopher snake and nothing to worry about. Of course the boys had to watch it and I was there somewhat curious but mostly feeling like Eve in the Garden! Just watching those things move around is creepy. I have stories for another time. What he she it was after was in here...

...a bird's nest. Once I discovered what it was up to I decided I didn't need a National Geographic "when animals attack" moment and went in the house!

On to the giveaway fun! Since blogland means making friends, cheering for each other and inspiring creativity I think it would be wonderful to enter the name of a friend that has touched your life.
I'll make it easy peasy.

1.Leave a comment on this post only with your friend's name and
what you love about her.
2. PLEASE keep it brief.
3. Comments will close on Saturday, May 29th @6:00p.m pacific time. Shipping is to the continental U.S. only.
4. Winner will be determined by random drawing. You and your friend will win a prize!

Whats the prize? Dont you just love a SURPRISE?! I do. I promise it wont be junk ;)
It might be an apron  or a teacup or a sweet little dish. It may be whatever you wish!

I will post the winner on sunday afternoon with a picture of the loot!

Hi Sharon,
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I would love to enter my friend ANNA in the drawing as she has been the big sister I never had. She helped me thru so much when I was fighting breast cancer and even tho she lives so far away, I always feel she is here with me.
Thank you so much for your beautiful blog and your giving heart. Keep blogging, WE LOVE IT!!!

PS...snakes totally make me run!!!!

Oh what a week! I'll be posting a picture of snake soon, too!!! YUCK. So glad kitty is fine -- at least it wasn't a child under there for a week :) (we moms have to look at the bright side!)

Serendipity brought Patty and me together (she's at "Finding Serendipity"). We are kindred spirits and have enjoyed getting to know each other little outside blogging, too! (still no face-to-face!)

Thanks for the giveaway. I love that you said you promise "no junk"! I can't imagine you would have any junk to give away!

Sunday blessings!

Well there are many blogging friends that have made a difference in my life - but I would highlight Elyse of Cottage and Donna of An Enchanted Cottage and Brenda of Cozy Little House. All have become close friends beyond leaving comments on blogs. I even got to meet Elyse and spend a wonderful morning with her.

You have weeks like mine. Don't you just wonder how you handle it all.
My new friend through blogging is Bev from Flamingo toes. She was my swap mate in a recent spring supply swap.
The snake, I hate them. I came home once and one was across my sidewalk with a big ole toad in his mouth. I also went in the house. Have a better day.

Hi Sharon!

Cute flower box! :) Yucky snake! That is probably the only thing that I do not like about having property/open space. Ewww! Fortunately(unfortunately-really) we are surrounded by concrete and walls. No way for those critters to sneak in.
I bet your jasmine smells soooo good! My honeysuckle is blooming like crazy on the gazebo and I wish I could bottle the scent. I'd be a rich girl!
I'm not going to enter your giveaway... I would pick you as my friend to write about so I KNOW you won't pick us! Haha!! FYI- I love reading your blog. Your stories are always soooo great. You should be a writer (books), because you really get a sense of feeling after reading your writing. Thanks for the smiles!!

Hugs to you! Amber
